Golden Retriever Grooming in Gurgaon: De-shedding & Feathering Trims
Pawmiable provides Golden Retriever grooming in Gurgaon at Conscient One Mall, Sector 109. Every session includes a bath, high-velocity de-shedding blow-out, feathering trim on the legs, chest and tail, ear cleaning and nail trim, from ₹899. Goldens shed heavily and are never shaved. Open 10 AM to 9 PM, seven days.
Golden Retrievers are Gurgaon's most-loved large breed, and the coat comes with one job: keep it shed out, never shaved down. The dense double coat blows twice a year and sheds constantly, and in Gurgaon's heat the loose undercoat traps dust and makes the dog miserable.
Our Golden routine is a bath, a high-velocity de-shedding blow-out that lifts the loose undercoat without cutting, and a feathering trim that keeps the legs, chest and tail tidy while the outline stays natural. No shaped clips, no shaving, ever.

Golden Retriever
Goldens shed heavily and need a groom with de-shedding every 5 to 6 weeks. We do a full bath, de-shedding blow-out, feathering trim on legs and tail, and ear cleaning. Their dense undercoat needs specialist tools, and we have them.
- 02
Labrador
Labs shed all year and blow their short double coat twice a year. We do deep-clean baths, de-shedding blow-outs, nail trims and ear cleaning every 6 to 8 weeks, and we never shave the double coat.
- 03
Husky
Huskies blow their coat twice a year in Gurgaon's climate. We do a high-velocity blow-out de-shedding that removes the undercoat without cutting. Our groomers never shave a Husky.
The details that matter
Everything our groomers would tell you in person, written down.
Why Goldens shed so much in Gurgaon
A Golden Retriever has a dense double coat: a soft insulating undercoat under a longer outer coat. The undercoat turns over constantly and blows out completely twice a year, around February to March and September to October. In Gurgaon's heat, the turnover is heavier, and the loose fur ends up on your sofa, your clothes and your Golden's skin.
The de-shedding blow-out is the treatment that fixes this. Warm forced air lifts the blown undercoat out in one session, cutting shedding at home by up to 80% for weeks. It is the treatment we do on every Golden visit.
The never-shave rule for double coats
Shaving a Golden looks like a quick fix for heat and shedding, but it removes the coat's insulation and sun protection, and the undercoat often grows back patchy. It does not stop shedding either, because shedding comes from the hair cycle, not the coat length.
The right approach is the blow-out plus a feathering trim: the outline stays natural, the coat keeps working, and the loose fur is gone. We refuse to shave double coats, and we will tell you the same thing in person.
Ears, paws and the Golden finish
Golden ears are dense, floppy and slow to dry, which makes them the breed's weak spot in monsoon humidity. We clean the outer ear and keep the canal aired on every visit, and flag any redness or smell for a vet check.
Paw pads get a trim and a check for cracks and burrs, and the feathering between the toes is kept short so mud and moisture do not collect there.
Aftercare: keeping the groom fresh at home
Small habits between visits stretch every session by weeks.
- Brush 2 to 3 times a week, more during coat-blowing season
- Book de-shedding just before coat-blowing season (Feb-Mar and Sep-Oct)
- Dry the ears thoroughly after any swim or rain walk
- Check between the toes and pads after park visits
- Book the next groom before you leave, every 5 to 6 weeks

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers, no fine print.
How much does Golden Retriever grooming cost in Gurgaon?
Golden Retriever grooming at Pawmiable starts at ₹899 for the Essential Groom. The Signature Groom is ₹1,149 and the Complete Paw-fection with a full de-shedding blow-out and feathering trim is ₹1,599. We confirm the quote before we start.
How often should a Golden Retriever be groomed?
Every 5 to 6 weeks with de-shedding. Goldens shed year-round and blow their coat twice a year, so the blow-out every 5 to 6 weeks keeps the loose fur out of your home and off your Golden.
Should I shave my Golden Retriever in summer?
No. The double coat protects against heat, sun and insects, and shaving it damages the growth pattern permanently. The correct summer treatment is a de-shedding blow-out, which removes the loose undercoat without cutting the coat.
Do Golden Retrievers shed a lot?
Yes, Goldens are heavy shedders, and Gurgaon's heat makes it worse. A de-shedding blow-out removes up to 80% of the loose fur in one session, which drops the shedding at home for 4 to 6 weeks.
Do you do haircuts for Golden Retrievers?
Goldens do not get shaped clips like Poodles or Shih Tzus. We do a feathering trim on the legs, chest and tail, tidy the paw pads, and keep the natural Golden outline. That is the correct groom for the breed.
