Shih Tzu Grooming in Gurgaon: Teddy Bear Cuts & Puppy Cuts
Pawmiable provides Shih Tzu grooming in Gurgaon at Conscient One Mall, Sector 109. Every session includes a bath, blow dry, breed-specific haircut (teddy bear, puppy cut or top-knot), de-matting, nail trim and ear cleaning, from ₹899. Our own Shih Tzus, Bingo and Zuko, are groomed here every month. Open 10 AM to 9 PM, seven days.
Shih Tzu coats are the highest-maintenance coat in the salon. They are double-coated, silky and grow continuously, so tangles form within days, not weeks. In Gurgaon's dust and humidity, a skipped session turns into mats that pull on the skin and hide irritation.
We groom Shih Tzus constantly, including our own Bingo and Zuko. Teddy bear cut, puppy cut, top-knot, Asian fusion: we know which style suits which face, and we match the cut to your Shih Tzu's coat, age and daily routine.

How the session works
- 1
Coat & eye check
We check for mats behind the ears, under the chin and around the eyes, then agree the cut and the quote before anything starts.
- 2
Bath & blow dry
A gentle bath with coat-appropriate shampoo, careful drying so the silky coat lies flat, and a blow-out that stops new tangles.
- 3
The cut & finish
Teddy bear, puppy cut or top-knot, finished with a face trim, nail trim, ear clean and a finishing spray. About 90 minutes total.

Shih Tzu
Shih Tzus need grooming every 4 to 5 weeks because their silky coats mat quickly. We do Shih Tzu haircuts including the puppy cut, top-knot style and teddy bear cut, with face trim and eye-area cleaning included.
- 02
Bichon Frise
Bichons have a curly double coat that mats easily and needs grooming every 4 weeks. We do the classic rounded Bichon clip, puppy cut and teddy bear style, with a gentle bath and blow-out to keep the curl soft.
- 03
Poodle
Poodles are the most versatile coat in the salon: puppy clip, teddy bear, continental or a custom Asian fusion style. We do Poodle clips of every kind, with careful scissor work and ear cleaning, every 4 to 6 weeks.
The details that matter
Everything our groomers would tell you in person, written down.
Why Shih Tzu coats tangle so fast in Gurgaon
A Shih Tzu coat is double-coated, silky and grows non-stop. Left alone, tangles form within 3 to 5 days in normal weather, and faster in Gurgaon's dust and monsoon humidity. Mats that reach the skin pull on it constantly and hide hot spots, so the standard is grooming every 4 to 5 weeks without skipping.
Brushing at home between sessions is the difference between a 90-minute tidy groom and a de-matting marathon. We show you exactly how, using the right brush for a Shih Tzu coat.
Teddy bear cut vs puppy cut vs top-knot: which Shih Tzu style
The teddy bear cut rounds the head and body so your Shih Tzu looks like a plush toy. The puppy cut keeps one even length all over, short and easy to maintain. A top-knot pulls the crown hair back and keeps the face clear, which suits dogs with watery eyes.
There is no wrong choice. We look at your dog's face, the coat condition and how much brushing you can commit to, then recommend one. Bring a reference photo and we match it exactly.
Tear stains, eye care and the Shih Tzu face
Shih Tzu faces are prone to tear staining because of their flat shape and long facial hair. We clean and dry the eye area every session, keep the hair around the eyes short, and suggest at-home wipes so staining stays mild.
- Eye-area hair trimmed short every session
- Gentle cleaning with pet-safe wipes
- We flag persistent watering or redness for a vet check
Aftercare: keeping the groom fresh at home
Small habits between visits stretch every session by weeks.
- Brush your Shih Tzu daily for 5 minutes, focusing on ears, legs and belly
- Use a metal comb under the top layer, brushing alone misses the undercoat
- Wipe the eye area daily to keep tear stains light
- Never let a mat sit: book de-matting as soon as you find one
- Book the next groom before you leave, every 4 to 5 weeks

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers, no fine print.
How much does Shih Tzu grooming cost in Gurgaon?
Shih Tzu grooming at Pawmiable starts at ₹899 for the Essential Groom. The Signature Groom is ₹1,149 and the Complete Paw-fection with a styled teddy bear or puppy cut is ₹1,599. Heavy de-matting is quoted separately after the coat check, before we start.
How often should a Shih Tzu be groomed?
Every 4 to 5 weeks. Shih Tzu coats grow continuously and tangle fast, so skipping a month means de-matting instead of a tidy groom. Regular visits keep the coat short, the eyes clear and the dog comfortable.
What is a teddy bear cut for a Shih Tzu?
The teddy bear cut rounds the head and body so the dog looks like a plush toy. The face stays soft and rounded, the body is scissored to one plush length, and the legs are trimmed to match. It is the most requested Shih Tzu style in our salon.
Does Shih Tzu grooming hurt?
No. We de-mat section by section with the skin held taut, so nothing pulls. If a mat sits too close to the skin we shave it out rather than cause pain. Anxious dogs get extra time and a quiet, patient groomer.
Do you groom Shih Tzu puppies?
Yes. Puppies get a slow, gentle first groom so the salon feels safe. We introduce the clippers and dryer gradually and keep the first session short. Most Shih Tzu puppies settle within the first 15 minutes.
